Traffic stop leads to arrest of Vincennes woman on Heroin charge

On December 1, 2019, at 12:47 p.m. Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on US 41 near Coalmine Road in Fort Branch on a Gold 2013 Nissan Altima for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle while speaking with the driver 56-year-old Alicia Holt of Vincennes. At that point Deputy Smith began a roadside investigation that resulted in Ms. Holt being taken into custody. At the conclusion of his investigation Ms. Holt was transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia with a Prior Conviction, Possession of Marijuana with a Prior Conviction, Possession of Heroin, and Possession of a Scheduled II Controlled Substance. She remains in custody on a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Deputy Jennifer Robb.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
