Not so fast on an appointment being announced to fill a vacancy on the Mt. Carmel City Council. At last night’s city council meeting, Mayor Joe Judge announced that he was delaying the appointment to replace Rod Rodriguez who is stepping down at the end of the year. Originally, Judge said the replacement would be announced last night, but now says the timetable has changed..

Whoever is appointed to the seat will serve until a special election is held in April of 2021 to fill out the remainder of Rodriguez’ term.
