On 12/23/19 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Austin H. Hoffman, age 23, of Mt. Carmel, for Aggravated Domestic Battery following a domestic dispute at a residence in the 300 block of East 4th Street.  During the investigation officers found evidence that indicated Hoffman committed a battery to his girlfriend during the dispute.   The domestic battery charge became aggravated due to the nature of the battery.  Hoffman was placed under arrest and transported to the Wabash County Jail.  Hoffman was held pending a bond setting by a judge.
