On 12/24/19 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Tura B. Buchanan, age 34, of Allendale, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Endangering the Life of a Child following a single vehicle traffic crash in the 2700 block of Janeway Drive.  Officers arrived to the scene and found that Buchanan had crashed her white Dodge into landscaping near the roadway.  Buchanan showed signs of impairment and was tested for such by use of field sobriety tests.  These tests provided clues to indicate impairment which resulted in Buchanan being arrested for DUI.  Due to Buchanan having juvenile passengers during the crash she was additionally charged with child endangerment.  Buchanan was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was processed for DUI.  Buchanan was held pending the posting of bond while the juveniles were turned over to a family member.
