On 12/08/19 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Hailie N. Batterton, age 21, of Mt. Carmel, for Domestic Battery, following a domestic dispute at a residence in the 400 block of West 6th Street. Batterton was accused of battering a family member. Officers investigated the complaint and found evidence to indicate a battery had occurred. Batterton was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged and held pending a bond setting by a judge. Batterton was later released from jail on bond and on 12/10/19; Mt. Carmel Police received another complaint against Batterton. On this complaint it was alleged that Batterton had stolen items from a residence in the 400 block of West 5th Street. Batterton was later located and placed under arrest for Theft. Batterton was taken to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged and held pending the posting of bond.
