VEHICLES:              UNIT 1 – White 2016 Freightliner Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer Combination

                                    UNIT 2 - White 2020 Peterbilt Truck Tractor (Bobtail)

DRIVER:                   UNIT 1 – Antonio Mason, age 37, St. Louis, MO

                                    UNIT 2- Jose Rodea, age 48, McAllen, TX

TRANSPORTS:      UNIT 2 – Transported by ambulance to Fayette County Hospital

CHARGES:               UNIT 1 - Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident

PRELIMINARY:       Preliminary investigative details indicate unit 2 was traveling Eastbound on Interstate 70 in the right lane while slowing down to take exit 61 in Vandalia. Unit 1 was directly behind unit 2. Unit 1 failed to reduce speed and rear ended unit 2.
