Motorcycle vs. Deer Results In Serious Injury

ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT  

 

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by

Illinois State Police District 12 

  

WHAT:                      Single vehicle motorcycle crash with injuries.

  

WHERE:                   Interstate 57 Northbound Milepost 154 (South of Effingham).

 

WHEN:                      5:57 PM on 10/08/2019

  

VEHICLES:              UNIT 1: Maroon 2013 Harley Davidson Motorcycle

                                   

 

DRIVER:                  UNIT 1: Christopher D. Marlow, 45, Terre Haute IN.

                                   PASSENGERS:         UNIT 1: April D. Marlow, 40, Terre Haute IN.

                                   

CHARGES:               UNIT 1: None                               

                                         TRANSPORTS:        UNIT 1: Passenger: April D. Marlow transported via Air Evac helicopter

  PRELIMINARY:  Preliminary details indicate that Unit 1, a maroon 2013 Harley Davidson Motorcycle operated by Christopher D. Marlow, was traveling Northbound on Interstate 57 at milepost 154 in Effingham County.  A deer ran into the roadway from the East in front of unit #1.  Unit #1 was unable to avoid striking the deer head on.  After making impact with the deer, Unit #1 overturned onto the driver's side causing both occupants to be ejected from the motorcycle.  The passenger, April D. Marlow, was transported from the scene via Air Evac helicopter and taken to Carle Hospital in Champaign, IL.
