WVC COMMUNITY CHOIR BEGINS OCTOBER 21

It’s that time of the year when Wabash Valley College begins planning for the WVC Community Choir. Anyone who would like to be a part of the Choir is asked to join Guest Director Gary Hargett in this year’s celebration which will have the theme of an “Irish Christmas.” This year they are making some changes in staging the concert. Instead of using the choral risers, they will be using chairs and platforms. The concert will be staged in one set with no intermission. The Choir members will be on stage for the entire set, and there will be times when the Choir will be seated. Besides the Choir performing, a quintet of traditional Irish musicians will perform three songs. Lee Wenger, Bradley University, will be a featured vocalist for two songs.

The first Sunday in December is the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Also, because WVC is staging a Christmas comedy (Dashing Through The Snow) on December 5, 6, & 8, the Christmas Concert will need to be staged on Sunday, December 15. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, October 21. Rehearsals are scheduled from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday evenings, and there will also be four Thursday rehearsals.

Alison Dudley will be serving as accompanist. They will meet in BAC1 (Band Room) in the Brubeck Arts Center. The technical rehearsal will be on Saturday, December 14. The concert will be staged at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 15. The final day to sign up for the Choir is Monday, October 28. They have some very exciting plans, and you will not want to miss the fun! And, please bring a friend!
