Rain Hampers Chamber's Spooktacular Event
The Wabash County Chamber of Commerce hosted their Chamber Spooktacular Saturday, October 26th in Mt. Carmel. But only a few were brave enough to run the Spooky-Rain-5K. "Thank you to our Race Sponsors Wabash General Hospital, First National Bank of Allendale, McDonald's & First Bank. We appreciate your willingness to make all these fun things happen and we hope to try again next year with a little bit of a nicer day." stated the event coordinator, Lesley Hipsher. 1st place winner was Kathryn StLedger, 2nd place was Becky Cowling and 3rd place Ericka Mollenhauer.
The Little Mister Harvest Prince contest took place at First Christian Church. Participants had a great time answer questions about their favorite things to do in the fall. Chase Kleinschschmidt won the contest and gave a detailed description of his Halloween plans to be a Telephone. He and his Dad have been hard at work designing and creating his costume this year.
Unfortunately, the Costume Parade, Kids Fun Run bounce houses, and balloon art were all cancelled because of rain. "We had a lot of fun things planned, but hey there is always next year." said, Mrs. Hispher. "Also a big shout out to our volunteers that came and hung out in the rain during registration and the race. We also would like to thank the volunteers from W.E.M.A. that lined up on part of the race route to ensure vehicles were traveling slowly through intersections on the route."
