Beer Garden To Be Part Of Next Month's 200th Birthday Bash In Mt. Carmel
Plans continue to come together for Mt. Carmel’s 200th birthday bash set for Friday, October 12th. It had been previously announced that the Kentucky Headhunters would perform live on Market Street as the highlight of the evening’s celebration.
At last night’s city council meeting, commissioners approved a beer garden be held in the former Hadley’s lot in the 400 block of Market Street. The Eagles will operate the beer garden which will be fenced off and restricted to those 21 and over.
Celebration organizer Shawn Storckman told the council last night that the stage for the concert will be set up near the 5th and Market Street intersection. He said food vendors will be stationed in the north half of the 300 block of Market Street.
Fire Commissioner Rod Rodriguez expressed concerns that the set up allow enough room for a fire lane.
