I-64 Crash Claims Life Of Litchfield Man

ISP DISTRICT 19 TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 19:

WHAT: Fatal Traffic Crash

WHERE: Interstate 64 westbound at milepost 109 (Wayne County)

WHEN: 08/29/2018, at approximately 8:40am

VEHICLES: Black, 1999 Isuzu Rodeo

DRIVERS: Benjamin D. Hollo, age 37, of Litchfield, Illinois (Deceased)

PASSENGERS: None

CAUSE: Remains under investigation.

TRANSPORTS: None ROAD CONDITIONS: Open PRELIMINARY: According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, the driver of the 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, Benjamin D. Hollo, was westbound on Interstate 64 approaching milepost 109 in rural Wayne County, when for unknown reasons he left the south side of the roadway. The vehicle continued to travel in the median until it struck several trees before coming to rest. The Wayne County Coroner’s Office pronounced Hollo deceased at the scene of the traffic crash. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Wayne County Ambulance Service, Wayne County Coroner’s Office, and Rick’s Towing assisted ISP District 19 at the crash scene.

All subjects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
