WHERE: I-57 north bound mile post 137.5, approximately 2.5 miles north of Farina (Fayette County)

WHEN: 07/27/18 @ 0745 a.m.

VEHICLES: UNIT 1 – White 2011 Ford UHAUL truck

UNIT 2 – Blue 2011 Freightliner tractor with trailer

DRIVER: UNIT 1- Alexander W. Gary, 23, Hazel Crest, IL

UNIT 2- Michael Garrett, 57, Hazel Crest, IL

PASSENGERS: UNIT 1- Ronnel Harris, 20, Champaign, IL Brandon Allen, 22, Country Club Hill, IL (MINOR INJURY)

CHARGES: DRIVER #1 Alexander W. Gary, 23, for Failure To Reduce Speed To Avoid An Accident.

TRANSPORTS: UNIT 1- Branon Allen, 22, (MINOR INJURY REFUSED TRANSPORT)

PRELIMINARY: A preliminary investigation indicated Unit 1 crossed the center lane boundary and rear ended the trailer of Unit 2 on I-57 north bound 2.5 miles north of Farina.
