On 5/25/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested James E. White, age 39, of Washington, IN, for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs following a traffic stop at 3rd St. & Walnut St.  The vehicle Mr. White was operating was called in multiple times for reckless driving while coming into Mt. Carmel from Indiana.  White submitted to field sobriety testing where clues to indicate impairment was observed.  White was placed under arrest and transported to the Wabash County Jail.  White was charged and later released on a $300 cash bond.  Mt. Carmel Police were assisted by the Illinois State Police since Mr. White was operating a commercial vehicle.
