ISP DISTRICT 19 TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 19:

WHAT:                                   Personal Injury Traffic Crash

WHERE:                                 White County Road 2550N westbound 500 feet west CR 350E

WHEN:                                   05/27/18 – 7:27 AM

VEHICLES:                            Unit 1- White 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer                

DRIVERS:                              Unit 1- Cody L. Cropper, 38 year old male from Barnhill, Illinois

PASSENGERS:                       N/A

CAUSE:                                  Improper Lane Usage

ROAD CONDITIONS:           Open   

PRELIMINARY:                                   Unit 1 was westbound on White CR 2550N at 500 feet west of CR 350E. For unknown reasons, unit 1 ran off of the roadway on the left into the ditch. Unit 1 continued traveling westbound in the ditch and impacted large rocks in a creek. The driver ejected out of his vehicle upon the impact. The driver was transported by Air Evac to Deaconess Hospital for further treatment for incapacitating injuries.

                                                            ISP was assisted at the scene by Fairfield Rural Fire Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Wayne County Ambulance Service, White County Ambulance, Air Evac, and Rick’s Towing (Grayville).

              All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
