NC Pair Arrested On Drug Charges In Mt. Carmel
On 4/28/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Jacqueline E. Landreth, age 36, of Clarkton, North Carolina and Ruben L. Harrelson Jr., age 42, of White Oak, North Carolina following a traffic stop at 7th & Poplar Street. During the course of the stop Deputy Bogard of the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office, along with his K-9 Roy, arrived as well. A free air narcotics sniff of the vehicle was conducted with the K-9 which led to an alert of narcotics in the vehicle. Landreth also had a suspended license out of North Carolina so she was placed under arrest at this time. Harrelson returned with a Wabash County Failure to Appear Warrant so he was placed under arrest as well. A search of the vehicle resulted in the officers locating a digital scale with suspected methamphetamine residue on it. Also located were various types of drug paraphernalia that are commonly used to ingest illegal drugs. Both were transported to the Wabash County Jail where they were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Use of Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia as well as the above mentioned offenses. Both are being held in the Wabash County Jail pending a bond setting by a judge.
