Allendale Students Participate In SIU Science Fair
On Tuesday, March 6th, Allendale seventh and eighth grade students participated in the Illinois Junior Academy of Science Region 8 contest at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale.
Out of nearly 400 participants, only about 60 will move on to the State contest in April at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. Allendale School was fortunate to have two students chosen to compete at the State competition level: Madison Adams - outstanding psychology project and Joleigh Keeling - overall excellence project. Holly Lofton was also awarded with an overall excellent project. Along with the certificate recognition, all three students also won a monetary award. Holly's project - Can Our Eyes Fool Our Tastebuds?; Joleigh's project - Which Flavor of Skittles is Most Preferred?; Madison's project - The Growth of Gummy Bears.
Congratulations Holly, Joleigh, Madison, and Allendale School Science instructor Nick Waldroup.
