Students in Miss Holden’s 2nd grade class recently completed a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Challenge.  

Their task? As a group, design and construct the longest, sturdiest paper chain possible using only the materials provided (2 pieces of construction paper, 12 inches of masking tape, 1 pair of scissors and a ruler).  Time allotted to complete the challenge: 30 minutes

The longest chain constructed was 92 inches long.  The shortest chain constructed was 42 inches long.
