Enjoy The Daylight On Thursday

Thursday is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere north of the Tropic of Cancer (23 degrees North). This is known as the Summer Solstice, when the sun reaches its northernmost point. The table shows an interesting comparison between our area and other parts of the country. You will notice the length of daylight increases the farther north you are, although the sun angle isn’t near as high in Alaska compared to Florida.
