Dr. Narendra H. Anadkat, 77

Dr. Narendra H. Anadkat, 77, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on March 12, 1947, in Dhoraji (Gujarat) India, the third child of Haridas Somji and Prabhaben (Nukka) of the Gujarat state in India. Dr. Anadkat immigrated to the United States in August 1973, for postgraduate study in internal medicine in Saint Louis, Missouri, where he met and married his wife, Patricia Mills who was in nurses training at the time. The couple were united in marriage on October 1, 1976.

Dr. Anadkat moved his family to Mount Carmel, Illinois at the end of 1980 when he joined the staff of Wabash General Hospital. He practiced internal medicine for thirty-six years. Dr. Anadkat was a past member of WGH hospital board and worked as a hospitalist. He was a member of AMA, TAPI, Cultural Society of India in Evansville, IN. His wife and he were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Tristate Hindu Temple of Evansville. In his free time, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling until his health prevented it. Dr. Anadkat’s presence with his family and the local community will be dearly missed.

Dr. Anadkat leaves behind his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Pat; daughters, Erin Schwartz and husband, Dylan of Los Angeles, California, Dr. Tara Rhine and husband Oliver of Cincinnati, Ohio; one granddaughter, Asha Schwartz; siblings, Kajal Pandat of Little Rock Arkansas, Jyoti (Gautham) Lohana of New Jersey, Monju Mansata of India, Saguna (Bharat) Raja of India; in-laws, Kathleen and Doug Duke of Palm Coast, Florida, Barbara Hornbeak of Perryville, Missouri, Maureen Mills of Maryland, Mary Schulte of Greenville, South Carolina, and Rob Mills of Perryville, Missouri; several special nieces and nephews.

Dr. Anadkat was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Memorial Visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in Dr. Anadkat’s memory to the Wabash General Hospital Foundation. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
