Seth Thomas Miller, 29

Seth Thomas Miller, 29, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at home in the presence of his loving family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 12:00 noon, in the chapel of Short-Cunningham Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Bellmont, Illinois.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Seth was born October 21, 1994, in Flora, Illinois. His parents are Thomas M. and Teresa G. (Enochs) Miller of Keensburg, Illinois. Seth was a true gift to everyone who knew him. He was kind, loving, compassionate and accepting. Seth was a light in the darkness. His life had limitations as a circumstance of his infirmities, but his influence on the world around him was extraordinary. The lessons that he taught are engraved on the hearts of all those who were fortunate to see and acknowledge his worth. Our lives are poorer in the absence, but we are made richer by having him in our family and in our memories.

Seth was a member of the Assembly of God. He participated in the Special Olympics.

Seth was survived by his parents, Thomas M. and Teresa G. (Enochs) Miller of Keensburg, Illinois; siblings, Mel (Danielle) Miller and children Michael, Desirae, Brylan, Hunter and Clairabelle of Allendale, Illinois, Jared (Allison) Miller and children Violet, Benjamin and Ezra of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Stephanie Lutz and children Gretchen, Austin and Skye, Emily (Joe) Amato and child Jamie of Lockpot, Illinois, and Erin (Matthew) Sellers and children Alexander and Nicholas of Paris, Illinois; two great nieces and four great nephews; and beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Melva Miller Parkhill of Oblong, Illinois and Burchard Miller of Grayville, Illinois; maternal grandparents, Earl Jr. and Kathleen (Maxey) Enochs of Patoka, Indiana; cousins, Elijah Nathaniel and Leah Marie Otto; and, uncle, Roger Michel.
