Rusty Joe Harms, 47

Rusty Joe Harms, 47, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at his residence. He was born on April 14, 1977 in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the son of Steve Harms and Janet (Thompson) Ray.

Rusty never met a stranger and always had a great sense of humor. He loved people and was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved playing horseshoes and always looked forward to the Orio Chowder and all the activities that took place. Rusty was a true outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for others at Tower Heights. Rusty will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Rusty will be remembered by his daughter, Victoria Rose Steele; father, Steve (Robin) Harms; mother, Janet (CD) Ray; brothers, Douglas (Jennifer) Harms, and Brian Harms; sisters, Stephanie (Joe) Stevens, and Kimberly (Mike) Waldrop; grandson, Jacob Steel, Jr.; many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Rusty will also be lovingly remembered by his many friends.

Rusty was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Wabash Presbyterian Cemetery with Pastor Kevin McGinnis officiating.
