Levain J. “Andy” Anderson, 75

Levain J. “Andy” Anderson, 75, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital, in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on July 27, 1949, in Warroad, Minnesota, the son of Levi and Florence (McKinnon) Anderson. He married Sue Sanders on May 10, 1969, in Baudette, Minnesota, and together they celebrated fifty-five years of loving marriage.

Andy faithfully served his Country in the United States Marines. He owned and operated L. J. Anderson Construction and was a member of the Carpenters Union #224 of Evansville, Indiana until his retirement. Andy and Sue lived in Mount Carmel during the winter season and at their home in Baudette Minnesota during the summer months. He loved the outdoors and often went hunting, fishing and especially enjoyed trapping. As he got older, he found peace being in his deer stand. Andy loved spending time with his family and enjoyed keeping up with the kids and grandkids’ activities and sporting events. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Andy was a caring husband, father and grandfather and his family and friends will miss his presence.

Andy leaves behind his beloved wife, Sue; sons, Clinton (Karissa) Anderson, Jesse Anderson, Aaron “AJ” (Erica) Anderson, Thomas (Samantha) Anderson; grandchildren, McKinnon, Noah (Stacey), Connor, Rhiannon, Patience, Aurora, Jaxon and Levi; brother, Paul (Penny) Anderson; brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Kay) Sanders, David (Joyce) Sanders, Mary Tinsley, Mark Sanders; many beloved nieces and nephews.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Gary Sanders; and sister-in-law, Helen Hulfachor Hull.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Fr. Bill Rowe officiating with Full Military Honors to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in Andy’s memory to USAMV, (our local honor guard), or to the Mt. Carmel VFW Post 4276.
