Bonnie Jane Johnson, 85, of Allendale, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 21, 1938, in Allendale, Illinois, the daughter of Odis and Geneva (Gher) Mattox. She married Jackie Wayne “Jack” Johnson on June 4, 1962, and they enjoyed fifty-nine years of marriage until his passing on July 20, 2021.

Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was always looking out for others. She was a 4-H leader for many years. Bonnie enjoyed knitting, ceramics and doing counted cross stitch. Bonnie and Jack enjoyed vacationing in South Carolina and visiting their daughter and her family in Florida. She was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church at Orio, and she will by dearly missed by all who knew her.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Jabez) Coggan III of Cocoa Florida; grandchildren, James (Samantha) Johnson, Alan Johnson, Jaclyn (Zack) Meade, Maia (Ruben) Marquez and Jabez Coggan IV; great grandchildren, Braxton, Benjamin, Lucy, Catherine, Madilyn, Aria, and Eliza; daughter in law, Stella Johnson; brothers, Bill (Peggy) Mattox, Mike Mattox; sisters, Coralee, (Delmar) Skeen, Candace Adair; many loved nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jack; one son, Eric Wayne Johnson; one brother, James Mattox.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin McGinnis officiating. Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery where Bonnie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
