Donald E. Deisher Sr. ,76

Donald E. Deisher Sr. ,76, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, left this world on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on June 12, 1947, in Mount Carmel, the son of Lawrence and Gladys (Miller) Deisher.  He married the love of his life, Sandra K. Jones, on September 1, 1968, and together they enjoyed fifty-five years of marriage.

Donald faithfully served his country in the United States Army.  He was employed at Pacific Press for forty-three years.  Donald was a self-taught musician, having learned to play several instruments with his guitar being his favorite.  He loved doing handyman work around the house, attending tractor shows and flea markets.  Donald took great pride in his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed spending quality time with Sandra, taking camping trips and watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Donald was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church, was a loving family man and his presence on this earth will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Donald leaves behind his loving wife, Sandra; sons, Donnie E. (Cyndi Warren) Deisher Jr., Matthew T. Deisher, Robb L. (Melissa) Deisher; grandchildren, Derek Deisher, Nathan (Chelsie) Deisher, Britney (Brandon) Harms, Jacob Deisher, Shelby (Logan Hinderliter) Deisher, Eric McCormick, Mackenzie (Hunter) Adams, Grant (Jasmine Garrett) Deisher; great-grandchildren, Elliott Deisher, Emmytt Deisher, Chandler Deisher, Raelyn Deisher, Luke Harm, Emma Harms, Soren Peach, Zoey Peach and soon to be, Harrison Hinderliter; siblings, Loree Barber, Lloyd (Jane) Deisher, Lois Houchin; sister-in-law, Lois Deisher; several nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Loren Deisher; sister, Beverly Hardin; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Annabell Deisher; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma and John Brown, Jean and Pearle McCaw, Ester and Earl Youngman, Betty and Leland Stoltz, Mary and Erasmus Peach, Kay and Fred Linxwiler; brother-in-law, Frank Barber.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Seals officiating.  Burial will follow at Lick Prairie Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s memory to The Lunch Wagon.
