Timothy Joe Casburn, 63

Timothy Joe Casburn, 63, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 17, 1959, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the son of Richard W. “Buck” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Archer) Casburn. He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in the class of 1977.

Tim worked for DeeCane Oilfield Supply. He was a longtime volunteer with local elementary and junior football teams, serving as both a coach and referee throughout the years, as well as coaching little league baseball. Tim was an avid Mount Carmel Aces fan and could always be found tailgating high school football games. He loved spending time and grilling out with his dear friends down at the Snake Pit.

More than anything, Tim loved spending time with his three children and nine grandchildren. He also enjoyed working and hunting with his older brother Bill. Family always came first in Tim’s life. He made a point to speak to each of his children daily, something his kids will always cherish. Cory, Drew, and Katelyn all agree, they could not have asked for a better father and grandpa to their children. He will be deeply missed by many.

Left to cherish Tim’s memory are his children Cory (Callie) Casburn of Mt. Carmel, Illinois,  Drew (Ashley) Casburn of Anchorage, Alaska, and Katelyn (Levi) Johnson of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; brothers, Thomas Casburn of Indianapolis, Indiana and William (Laveta) Casburn of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren, Brooklyn Faith, Lillyan Elizabeth and Ellyanora Cordelia Casburn, Dayvanee Rose, River Elizabeth and Sawyer LeeAnn Casburn, and Theodore James, Roman Everett and Oliver Robert Johnson; and, niece and nephews, Richard Lee (Sara) Casburn, April (Scott) Fisher, Jed (Tammy) Casburn, Matt (Katy) Casburn and Brandon (Jenny) Casburn.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard David Casburn, a sister-in-law, Pamela Casburn and a nephew Joseph Edward Casburn.
