Thomas L. Wilkinson, 74, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Wellington Parc of Owensboro in Owensboro, Kentucky, with his son, Joshua, at his side.

He was born September 20, 1947, in Friendsville, Illinois, the son of Robert and Cova May (Goodson) Wilkinson. Thomas graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and received an Associate Degree at Wabash Valley College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Thomas worked for Snap-On Tools in the forge department until it closed.

Thomas enjoyed all sports. He was an avid golfer and played basketball in high school.

Left to cherish Thomas’ memory are his children Joshua Wilkinson of Evansville, Indiana, Woodrow Jones of Nashville, Tennessee, and Shannan Carrico of Washington, Indiana; siblings, Ronnie (Sue) Wilkinson, Connie (Doyle) Bradley Wilkinson; and a life partner, Norma Sisson.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers John, Cecil and Bill Wilkinson.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 25, 2022, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, July 26, at 11:00 a.m. at the Friendsville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to USAMV (provides clothing and equipment for the Mt. Carmel Honor Guard). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and cemetery.
