Eddie Ray Schafer, 78, of Rogersville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.  He was born on November 29, 1943 in Princeton, Indiana, the son of James H. and Ganelle (Whittler) Schafer.  Eddie graduated from Allendale High School.  Eddie married Sharon K. Walker on March 14, 1964 and together they enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage centered around their family.

Eddie was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was caring, generous and had a big heart for those he loved.  Eddie would do anything for his family and was a proud grandpa and great grandpa.  He and Sharon always looked forward to attending his granddaughters’ sporting events and activities.  Eddie loved the farm life and always looked forward to fishing on Mesa Lake and boating on Tablerock Lake in Branson, Missouri.  While in Branson, Eddie enjoyed taking in shows especially with his granddaughters. Family gatherings were important to Eddie and he always looked forward to the dessert with a good pie and ice cream.

Eddie enjoyed keeping up with current events and talking with people on the phone daily.  Eddie worked in Aerospace Manufacturing where he retired as a cockpit electrician at McDonald Douglas and Boeing.  He was an avid coin collector.  Eddie and Sharon also enjoyed living in Stuart Florida during the winter months.  He served as a board member at St. Charles Park and Recreation Department.  Eddie enjoyed many great years in St. Charles working alongside Sharon with her candy store and bed and breakfast.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Eddie will be remembered by his loving wife, Sharon Schafer; daughter, Tammy Bracker and husband, Dan; granddaughters, Abby Wright and Hannah Kelley; great granddaughters, Kayda Wright and Kynlee Wright; sister, Rosetta Hacker.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Catherine Crackel.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service to Celebrate Eddie’s life will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin McGinnis officiating.  Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery.
