Guy W. “Butch” Alspach, 77

Guy W. “Butch” Alspach, 77, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at home. He was born on December 15, 1944, in Gary, Indiana, the son of Guy and Helen (Land) Alspach.

Butch was a hard worker and always stayed busy. He loved to tinker and to take something old and make it new. He enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, and fishing. Butch owned classic cars and in his free time, he enjoyed attending car shows and listening to Elvis. He held a black belt in Karate and served as a Karate Instructor. He loved helping others perfect their skills in martial arts. Butch worked as an oil refinery inspector for many years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Illinois. Butch will be missed by his family and friends.

Butch leaves behind his children, Bradley (Teresa) Alspach, Leah (Jeremy) Mahrenholz, and Gina (Richard) Wells; nine grandchildren; Audrey (Zach) Manuel, Clarissa (Alex) Kerney, Christopher Wells, Kylie Wells, Chloe (Adrian) Case, Julian Case, Journey Mahrenholz, True Mahrenholz, and Jessica Burgett; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Teresa) Alspach; two sisters, Donna Fischer, and Rita (Gary) Koontz; several nieces and nephews.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Merlyn Groff.

In keeping with Butch’s wishes, cremation rites will take place and no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
