Homer L. Majors, 90

Homer L. Majors, 90, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 14,2022 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 26, 1931, in Mount Carmel, the son of Amos and Christina (Keneipp) Majors. He married D’Ella Meyer on November 21, 1953, and together they have celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage.

Homer faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for Snap-On-Tools for twenty-five years and also was district manager for Arab Pest Control for fifty years. Homer enjoyed his work with Arab and all the people he came to know. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go fishing, hunting and camping. Woodworking was his favorite hobby, along with attending area auctions. He belonged to the Mount Carmel Masonic Lodge #239. Homer was a member of Asbury Chapel. He was a very kind man who loved his family dearly and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Homer leaves behind his loving wife, D’Ella; four sons, Les (Mary) Majors, Robert (Carolyn) Majors, Jon (Cathy Knapp) Majors, Ernie (Mindy) Majors; two daughters, Linda (Robert) Compton and Cathy (Jeremy) Dooley; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Sharon Majors; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents; son, Phil Majors; daughter, Julie Majors; one infant sister, Wilma Rosamond.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2022, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2022, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Vaughn Courter officiating. Burial will follow at Hallock Cemetery in rural Wabash County, with Full Military Honors.

Memorial contributions may be made in Homer’s memory to ECKCO, (Eugene C. Kieffer Charitable Organization). Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
