Trudie G. Sloss, 78

Trudie G. Sloss, 78, longtime resident of Bellmont, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 16, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Norman and Helen (Jarvey) Hallam. She married Larry Sloss Sr. on June 17, 1961, and they had fifty-eight wonderful years of marriage until his passing on August 9, 2019.

Trudie was a graduate of Edwards County High School. She was a majorette with the band and a talented member of the softball team. She was proud of the fact that her team won State Championship during her career. Trudie was a devoted homemaker all while working with her husband in the family-owned business, Sloss Ice Company. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and was an avid NASCAR fan, watching the races every Sunday. Trudie loved her family dearly and her kids were number one in her heart. She greatly enjoyed family pool parties and holiday dinners. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially the kid’s favorite banana and pineapple cookies. Trudie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Trudie leaves behind her son, Larry Sloss, Jr., and wife Theresa of Mount Carmel; daughter, Angie Sloss of Bellmont; grandchildren, Damon (Kristenia) Sloss, Heather (Jordan) Fischer, and Jammia (Robin) Joska; great grandchildren, Ryder and Carson Sloss, Avalyn and Ellie Fischer, Nathaniel, Matthias and Annelise Garrison, Maya and Merrick Joska; brothers, Dr. Thomas (Rachel) Hallam, Mick (Betty) Hallam; sister, Joanne Shrout; sister-in-law, Peggy (Brad) Walling.

Trudie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and baby sister, Carol Hallam.

The family will gather for a Private Service on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, with burial to follow in Bethel Cemetery where Trudie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
