Kathy D. Whitehouse, 75, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 2, 1947, in Nicholson, Mississippi, the daughter of Henderson and Margaret (Fleming) Slaydon. She married Ralph E. Whitehouse Sr. and together they enjoyed fifty-one years of marriage until his passing on June 19, 2021.

Kathy was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her home and keeping things tidy. She loved gardening, camping, and shopping. It was always a good day when she could find a good deal while shopping. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for her whole family brought her great joy. She was a member of Hope Fellowship Church. Kathy was very kind and caring and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Kathy leaves behind one son, Ralph Whitehouse Jr. and wife, Tiffany of Mount Carmel; daughters, Tammie Whitehouse of Mount Carmel, Kay Phillips and husband Michial of Grayville, IL; eight grandchildren, Alicia Wilson, Ashley Hammond, Aaron Foshee, Lauren and Laney Smith, Christopher Price, Kaleigh and Aydon Phillips; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brothers, Phillip (Cherry) Slaydon, Ricky Slaydon, Lionel (Judy) Deese; one sister, Judy (Steve) Fleming; several nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Eula Ingram.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Teresa Berberich; two sisters; two brothers; one niece and one nephew.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Lick Prairie Cemetery where Kathy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Memorial contributions may be made in Kathy’s memory to Hope Fellowship Church.
