Carole Ann Linson, 82, of Grayville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Grayville, Illinois, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born December 4, 1938, in Wabash County, Illinois, the daughter of Lee Earl and Mary (Schmitt) Rymer.

Carole worked as a CNA for many years and would often do private care for those who were terminally ill.  Carole enjoyed talking with people and never met a stranger.  She loved to gamble and was known by her friends as “Lucky Lady”.  Carole enjoyed raising flowers and plants.  She had a fondness for animals, especially cats.  She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them as often as possible.  Carole will be missed by all who knew her. 

Carole leaves behind her children, John (Trena) Linson, Jeff (Mary) Linson, Kathy Thomas, Kevin Linson, Brenda (Mike) Troutt, Bruce (Jill) Linson, Rex Linson; grandchildren, Bobby Joe, JC, Nathan, Jared, Mike, Kyria, Josh, Heath, Caymen, Devan, Chase, Jake, Gaige, and Jayden; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Diane) Rymer, Judy Hornby, Nancy (Van) Lowe; several nieces and nephews.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia McCrary; brother, Stanley Rymer; and brother-in-law, Kenny Hornby. 

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Richison officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. 

In accordance with the recommendations of the CDC and the IDPH, masks will be required. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Carole’s memory to Meadowbrook Nursing Home Activities Fund.  Envelopes will be at the Funeral Home or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois 62863.
