James Lee Walker, 73, of Mt. Carmel, IL passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN with family by his side.

He was born June 12, 1948, in Barberton, Ohio, the son of Frank and Beulah (Ross) Walker.

James served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a hand finisher in the manufacturing industry, making tire molds for many years. He enjoyed working in his garden, working on cars, and spending time with his family. He was an animal lover. He was always a free spirit. James was a very caring and honest hard working man. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Those left to cherish James’ memory include his children Matthew Walker of Mt. Carmel, Mary (William) Bown of  Havelock, NC, Lisa (John) Hensley of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; James (Lisa) Walker of Magadore, OH; siblings Kathy Sandridge of OH, Robert Walker of OH, and Linda (Roger) Walker of WV; grandchildren Paige (Mike) Stojanovic, Renee Lint, Brandon and Nathan Bown, Bradley Walker and Kara Walker; and great grandchildren Logan, Levi, and Hayes Stojanovic.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, June Nutter.

Per his request, James will be cremated, and there will be no formal service.
