Joyce B. Lofton, 79, of Washington, Indiana, passed away June 30, 2021, at her residence surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born April 5, 1942, in Browns, Illinois, the daughter of Addis and Stella Faye (Payne) Wood.  Joyce was a press operator for a manufacturing company for 15 years and worked in telecommunications prior to that.  She loved to crochet and make blankets for her great grandchildren.  Joyce enjoyed spending quality time with her family.

Left to cherish Joyce’s memory are her children Tonia Lofton of Washington, Indiana and Ken (Sandy) Lofton of Paris, Tennessee; grandchildren Justin Lofton, Kandas Trueblood, Christina Lofton, Stephen Lofton, Alicia Lofton, Summer Lofton, Derrick Lowe and Christopher Meinerding; great grandchildren Ava Lofton, Ayden Lofton, Hannah Trueblood, Carson Trueblood, Courtney Trueblood, Bryson Moore, Jacob Moore, Madison Lofton, Brooklyn Lofton, Chase Green, Haley Poland, Eli Poland, Sebastian Lowe and Jayce Lowe; and a sister Jauritia (Don) Miller.

Joyce is preceded in death by her children Richard C. Lofton, Darrell Lofton and Regina Lofton and her siblings Vearl Wood and Janice Rodgers.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
