Dixie L. Gourley, 78

Dixie L. Gourley, 78, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on June 26, 1942 in Princeton, Indiana, the daughter of Leonard and Kathryn (Miller) Ellis.

Dixie made her home in Mount Carmel in 1976. She worked at the American Legion as a bartender for thirty-two years. Dixie enjoyed good music and loved to dance. She was a die-hard Elvis fan and had a good sense of humor. She loved to cook for her family but her favorite thing was spending time with them, especially at the holidays. Dixie made many friends throughout the years and she will be dearly missed all who knew her.

Dixie will be fondly remembered by her son, Gregory K. Anthis of Washington State; daughter, Jackie L. Gourley of Mount. Carmel; thirteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Brian K. Ellis; niece, Leanne (Russell) Lewis; one aunt, Ruth Morrison; several cousins and many friends.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike Gourley; daughter Teresa Anthis and infant daughter, Kimberly Anthis.

A private family Graveside Service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka, Indiana.
