Patricia Ann “Pat” Beesley, 91

Patricia Ann “Pat” Beesley, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, was called home Monday, December 6, 2021.

She was born April 9, 1930, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Frances Joshua and Ruth Marie (Deputy) Brothers. Pat was a member of the Mt. Carmel High School graduating class of 1948. On June 24, 1951, at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Pat married William Ray “Bill” Beesley and together they enjoyed 70 years of marriage.

She was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

Over her life, Pat worked for Heath Candy Company, Mt. Carmel Telephone Company, District #348 as a cook, Ben Franklin Store, Dr. T. R. Young, and Bank of Mt. Carmel retiring as a teller. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Torchbearer Chapter. Pat and Bill enjoyed square dancing in their younger years and traveling together. She enjoyed sending greeting cards to family, friends, nursing home friends and her church family. Pat’s greatest joy was her family.

Left to cherish Pat’s memory are her beloved husband of 70 years, William; daughter Lisa (Phil) Tucker and grandchildren Brandon (Libby), Bryce, Brett and Patrick; daughter Linda (Stu) Oberg and grandchildren Nathan (Shannon), John and Jamie; great-grandchildren Leo, Addie, and Layla Grace; and sister, Rose Marie (Robert) Schaefer.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Timothy Brothers.

Family and friends may gather for a visitation on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

The Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. with burial at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

COVID-19 precautions, wearing of face coverings, social distancing and use of hand sanitizer is recommended.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral Home.
