Judy Marie Meier, 75

Judy Marie Meier, 75, of Albion, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at her residence surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born November 21, 1946, the daughter of Theodore and Nadine (Beard) Hocking in Princeton, Indiana.

Judy was a member of the House of Prayer in Albion, Illinois. She was a deli manager for Borowiak’s IGA for many years. Family was the most important thing in Judy’s life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Judy also enjoyed being a caregiver for her family.

Left to cherish Judy’s memory are her children, Cindy (Jim) Wheeler of Evansville, Indiana, Butch (Jan) McGee of Fort Branch, Indiana, Mel (Dennis) Shular of Spokane Valley, Washington, Bobby (Dana) McGee of Maricopa, Arizona, and a stepson, Eric (Kay) Meier of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three greatgrandchildren; three great greatgrandchildren; and a dear friend, Larry Judge.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Kenneth R. Hocking and Reva Loretta Hocking; and two great grandbabies, Makenna and Keegan Payton.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. There will be no funeral service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jawad and Wendy.

COVID-19 precautions, wearing of face coverings, social distancing and use of hand sanitizer is recommended.
