Evelyn Jade Phelps, 1

Evelyn Jade Phelps, 1, of Keensburg, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Wabash General Hospital with her mother and father by her side.

She was born August 4, 2019, the daughter of Tyler Phelps and Kelsey Allen at Richland County Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois. Evelyn was an amazing baby whose time with us was short but filled with love and happiness that was as contagious as her smile. She loved reading books with mommy and daddy, dancing to almost any song she heard, and getting into places she didn’t belong. She was a star that shone so bright that her time was short but those that go to see her shine will forever be touched by her beauty and positivity.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents; siblings, Leon Phelps, Ezekiel Snow, Addalyn Sanders and Zayden Doan; maternal grandparents, Bonnie Allen and Burl Carmichael; paternal grandparents, Cynthia Phelps and Stephen Price; maternal great-grandparents, Beverly Perrin; paternal great-grandparents, Sue Price and Eddie and Aleta Phelps; paternal aunts and uncles, Bridgette Price, Bethany Price, Bobbie Price, Lucas Price, Natasha Lingo, Robert Ridgely, Telisha Ridgley, and Doug Scott; maternal aunts and uncles, Joseph Leonard and Nick Toole; also several great aunts and uncles.

Evelyn was preceded in death by cousins Tripp Lingo, Amber Bunting and Dylan Bunting; and, great-aunt Jennifer Phelps.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation Sunday, August 30, 2020, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home. (Please enter from the garage.) A graveside service will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery Baby Land, at 3:30 p.m.
