Charles “Sid” Rutter, 57

Charles “Sid” Rutter, 57, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 11, 1963 in Mount Carmel, the son of Charley and Patty (Ridgley) Rutter.

Sid worked at Champion Lab for fifteen years. He had a big heart along with a quick wit which made him a fun person to be with. He was jokingly dubbed the “Mayor of Lick Prairie”. Sid was a past Governor of the Moose Lodge. He had a love for the outdoors and music. He often could be found at Mesa Lake, Beall Woods, coaching softball or attending concerts. He was a big Aces Football and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Sid loved his family dearly. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a friend to many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Sid will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Tosha (Clayton) Hancock; son, Dalton Rutter; grandchildren, Gus, Kenna, Marli and Remi Hancock; sisters, Mary (Doug) Peterson, Carol (Jack Chandler) Perkins, Charmin Mowrer; several nieces and nephews.

Sid was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Frank Sutton; and nephew, Clint Mowrer.

In keeping with Sid’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Sid's Life from 4:00 p.m.-7:00p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Twin Rivers Restaurant in Mount Carmel.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sid’s memory to Linda E. White Hospice House and mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
