Albert Franklin Banks, 94

Albert Franklin Banks, 94, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Wabash General Hospital.

He was born October 3, 1925, the son of Ross and Tressie (Baxley) Banks, in Wabash County, Illinois.

Albert was a member of First General Baptist Church.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  Albert worked in the oilfields for 46 years.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed working puzzles and loved reading.  Albert loved to torment kids, usually ending with the kids getting in trouble while he pretended to be innocent!

Left to cherish Albert’s memory is his daughter Regina Lear of Greenville, Kentucky; grandchildren David (Melissa) Lear and Aaron Banks; several great grandchildren; and special friend for 17 years, Wilma Banks and her children Debbie Schwartz, Jeanette McCoy, Randall Banks, Dennis Banks and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; son Larry Banks; first wife Ruth; siblings Chlorine Crackel, Sally Wagner, Joanne Ennibaugh, Edith Banks, Victor Schoeindt, Brownie Schoeindt, Mary Fisher, Bonnell Schoeindt, Sam Banks, Richard Banks and Jackie Luke.

A private family funeral service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2020, with burial at Highland Memorial cemetery at 12:15 p.m.
