Stephen L. Lathorp, 69, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born November 2, 1950, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the son of Levi and Alice Jean (Hawl) Lathrop. 

 Stephen was a member of the Berryville Christian Church.  He was a devoted Christian and loved Christian music and playing keyboard.  Stephen enjoyed watching western movies.  He had worked at Goodwill Industries.  Stephen also participated in the Special Olympics.

 Left to cherish Stephen’s memory are his nephews David and Jimmy Kinslow and several cousins. 

 Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Sarah Jean Kinslow and a brother, Alfred Lathrop.

 Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2020, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.   A memorial service will be held at a later date.
