James I. “Jimmy” Wilson, 73

James I. “Jimmy” Wilson, 73, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 28, 1946 in Columbus, IN, the son of Lorel and Helen (Bishop) Wilson. Jimmy married Jolene Watson on December 9, 1972 and they enjoyed forty-seven years of marriage.

Jimmy faithfully served his Country in the United States Army where he was enlisted for twelve years. He also served the National Guard stationed out of Lawrenceville, IL. Jimmy loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was an avid NASCAR fan and always enjoyed watching the races. Jimmy also look forward to football season to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots. He was fond of animals and especially loved his cats, Buttons and Zeva. He was a member of Elizabethtown Christian Church. Jimmy will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Jimmy will be remembered by his wife, Jolene Wilson; one son, Randall (Debra) Akins of Denton, NC; three daughters, Darlene Massey of Forth Worth, TX, Crystal Anderson of Forth Worth, TX, and Rose (James) Hart of Lawrenceville, IL; one brother, Kenneth (Kelly) Wilson; two sisters, Sharon (Dale) Dart and Jennifer (Allen) Garland; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; close friends Bridget and Marlow Hilderbrand and Raymond (Marie) Giebs, Sr.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Wilson; and nephew, Raymond Giebs, Jr.

In keeping with Jimmy’s wishes, cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
