Danny L. Humphreys, 71

Danny L. Humphreys, 71, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.  He was born on October 14, 1949 in Princeton, Indiana, the son of Willis and Eva (Krug) Humphreys.  He married Velva “Jean” Sutton on January 29, 1972 and together they have enjoyed forty-eight years of marriage. 

Danny had been employed at Snap-On Tools Corporation for thirty-one years.  He started working at Wabash General Hospital as an EMT when it was a volunteer program, and remained there for thirty-one years.  He dearly loved his work as an EMT and cherished the friendships of his co-workers.  Danny was a valued and respected member of the EMT team and loved by the whole Wabash General Hospital family of employees.   In his younger years, Danny enjoyed net fishing with his friends.  He had a three-wheeled bicycle that he enjoyed riding around town.  During the last few years, Danny enjoyed browsing and shopping at antique shops and flea markets.  Danny loved his family dearly and they cherished his love and guidance.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

Danny leaves behind his loving wife, Jean; daughter, Melissa (Juston) Wheeler; sons, Jason (Cathy) Humphreys, Danny (Tammy) Humphreys, David (Miranda) Humphreys; grandchildren, Connor Humphreys, Sammie Humphreys, Jacaelah Wheeler, Caelyx Wheeler, Alyssa Humphreys, Ashley (Cainan) Whaley, Casey (Matthew) Warren; one great-grandchild; mother-in-law, Vereal Sutton; nephew, Mack Humphreys, niece, Heather (Stephen) Hall.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Mack Humphreys; father-in-law, William R. Sutton; and his beloved dog, Cosmo.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2020 at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Greg Winemiller officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Danny’s memory to the charity of your choice and will be accepted at the Graveside Service or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
