Julie Ann “Jewels” Henson, 63
Julie Ann “Jewels” Henson, 63, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 5, 1957 in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter of Jim and Bobbie Ann (Sublett) Sparks.
Jewels was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She had a gift of listening to people; while offering advice to many. Jewels worked at the Long Branch, Eagles and was currently working as a cook at the V.F.W. in Mount Carmel. During her working career, Jewels made many lasting friendships. She was a very good cook and was well known for her famous tacos. She spent 32 years making her famous tacos on a weekly basis for “Taco Nights” at the local clubs. Anyone that had the privilege of knowing Jewels, loved her. She was lovingly referred to as a “second mother” by many and was always willing to help others in need. Jewels was a proud grandmother and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Jewels touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Jewels will be remembered by her daughters, Shanna Henson of Mount Carmel, Mary (Micah) North of Edmond, OK and Jennifer Seaton of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Sadie (Aaron) Wilson, Avary Daum, Mataio Militoni, Aubree Carter, Leah and RJ North; and brother, Eric (Bobbie) Sparks of Austin, TX.
Jewels was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Sublett; and son, Greg Matthew Henson.
A private Visitation and Funeral Service for Jewels will be held at Keepes Funeral Home for family and close friends with Pastor Mark Richison officiating.
