Johnnie Lee “John” Dunn, 67

Johnnie Lee “John” Dunn, 67, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away from cancer on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at home.  He was born on July 14, 1953 in Mount Carmel, the son of Jack and Pat (Collins) Dunn.  He married his long-time girlfriend, Sandy Paschal, on September 22, 2018 and they have enjoyed twenty years together.

John was employed as a truck driver in the oil fields and for McCuiston Distributing in Mount Carmel.  He then worked for PIC Group Inspections until his retirement and after that, he filled in some of his spare time driving a school bus in Princeton, Indiana.  John loved to go camping.  He and Sandy greatly enjoyed their trips to area campgrounds in both Illinois and Indiana.  John also enjoyed bowling and he could tell a good joke.  John was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  His dog, Molly, had a special place in his heart.  John loved his family dearly.  Spending time with their children and grandchildren brought him great joy.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

John leaves behind his loving wife, Sandy; mother, Pat Dunn; sons, Ryan (Dana) Dunn, Nick (Yesenia) Dunn, Josh (Leslie) Paschal, William Paschal; daughters, Mahaley (Blain) Perry, and Jenny Paschal; six grandchildren; twin brother, Jack (Toni) Dunn; sister, Vilinda Kitchene; one aunt, Violet Collins; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his father, grandparents; several aunts and uncles. 

John’s family will be having a private Celebration of Life, Saturday, December 5, 2020.
