Jack Hall, 74

Jack Hall, 74, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by the love of his family.

Jack was born August 10, 1946, the son of Elvis Ray and Clara Mae (Hensley) Hall Paille in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. Jack proudly served in the United States Army Intelligence Unit from 1965-1968.

After his tour with the United States Army, Jack attended Wabash Valley College for two years. On March 17, 1978, Jack married Diana S. Phebus in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

He was a member of Parkview Christian Church. Jack worked as a plumber-pipefitter in the construction business.

He belonged to the Plumber and Steamfitters Local 136 of Evansville, Indiana, for thirty-seven plus years. Jack loved hunting, fishing, boating, watching football and spending time with his family.

Left to cherish Jack’s memory are his wife of 42 years, Diana, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; children, Clarissa (Randy) VanVickle of Covington, Indiana, R. Derick (Laura) Wiggins of Jasper, Indiana, David (Kerry) Hall of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Erin L. (George) McCullough of Naperville, Illinois; grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexander and Zachary VanVickle, Riley, Josie and Ella Wiggins, Lauren and Kourtney Hall, and, Jules and Jackson McCullough; step-brother, Rod (Maria) Paille and step-sister, Betsy (Craig) Whaley, both of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; siblings, Marilyn (Jim) Kieffer of Inverness, Florida and Diane Tomas of Evansville, Indiana.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Phillip Paille and step-sister Peggy Edwards.

A Private Graveside Service for Family and close friends will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garden Mausoleum in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Parkview Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at Short Funeral Home.
