Rudy David Kight, 80

Rudy David Kight, 80, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on November 9, 1940 in Wabash County, Illinois, the son of Malcolm and Geneva (Krug) Kight. He married Mary Massey on November 20, 1976 and she survives.

Rudy was employed as an engineer at Snap on Tools Corporation for thirty-five plus years. In his spare time, he enjoyed quail hunting, fishing and golf. Rudy was a kind hearted man and loved to be of help to others. He often gave friends and family rides to and from doctor appointments. Rudy could best be described as a faithful caretaker. He loved his family dearly. Watching his grandchildren in their sporting events gave him much pride and joy. Rudy was a member of the Mount Carmel High School graduating class of 1958. He was a lifetime member of the Free Methodist Church. He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Rudy leaves behind his loving wife, Mary; son, Brandon Kight and wife Jill; grandchildren, Blake, Dirk, Asher, Claira, Judah and Finley Kight; brothers, Arthur “Gene” Kight of Allendale, IL, Malcolm (Sally) Kight of Ft. Worth, TX; sisters, Janet Deisher of West Salem, IL, Marilyn (Mike) Rafferty of Mt. Carmel, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Jim Deisher.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday November 23, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Social distancing protocol will be followed and face coverings are required.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2020, the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Daron Colgan officiating. Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Rudy’s memory to the Free Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home, or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
