Marcia (Peter) Barnlund, 71, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November, 12, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by her children. She was born on February 20, 1949 in Wabash County, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph F. and Louise (Steckler) Peter. She graduated Mt. Carmel High School Class of 1967. Marcia married Ronald D. Barnlund on December 19, 1970 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Mount Carmel. Together, they enjoyed twenty-seven years of marriage before his passing on March 30, 1997.

Marcia was a devoted wife, mother, nana, and daughter. She enjoyed helping her parents with their business, 3rd Street Laundromat, for many years. Marcia also enjoyed listening to music and playing cards with family and friends. She loved being outdoors and tending to her flower garden. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Marcia will be remembered by her mother, Louise (Steckler) Peter; son, Brent Barnlund and wife Erin; daughter, Tiffany Barnlund; grandchildren, Savannah and Aiden Barnlund; siblings, Bernard Peter and wife Carolyn, Charlene Ebbott, Kenneth Peter and Barbara Liddle.

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald D. Barnlund; father, Joseph F. Peter; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Gertrude (Keepes) Peter; and maternal grandparents, Herman A. and Louisa (Trapp) Steckler.

A private family Graveside Service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with Father Robert Zwilling officiating.
