Stephen Keith “Steve” McIntire, 67

Stephen Keith “Steve” McIntire, 67, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in the comforts of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 25, 1951 in Mount Carmel, the son of H. Keith and Florence (Tennes) McIntire. He married Vicki Byerly who preceded him in death on February 15, 2010 after thirty-eight years of marriage.

Steve faithfully served his country in the United States Army. For thirty-four years he worked in the family business, Precision Well Perforating. He also worked at the AutoZone parts store until his retirement. In his spare time Steve enjoyed the sport of shooting guns. He was an antique car enthusiast and liked rebuilding old cars. For the past several years, Steve and his girlfriend enjoyed traveling to Florida, Las Vegas and Gatlinburg. Steve was a family man. He dearly loved his family and spending time with them. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. Steve attended Keensburg Christian Church. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Steve will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Christopher (Trish) McIntire, Brian (Maria) McIntire; daughter, Kelly (Matthew) Hocking; grandchildren, Chloe & Ellie McIntire, Josh (Makayla) Wall, Jessica Wall, Brookelyn, Alex, Zach, Sam and Lily Hocking, Madison, Kylan and Jake McIntire; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Braxton Wall; longtime girlfriend, Sue Harrison; brother Gary (Sandra) McIntire; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be a private family burial with Full Military Honors at a later date.
