Karen Ann Sanders

Karen Ann Sanders passed away on Friday August 16 in Evansville IN. She was born on February 19, 1947 in Mt. Carmel, the daughter of Ralph and Lucille (Lawrence) Spurling. She married Gary Sanders on September 6, 1969 at the Pleasant Grove Church.

Karen was a cook for many years, working at West Salem Manor and Casey’s. She also worked at Thordason Meisners. She enjoyed gardening, mowing and going out to eat. She was a fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. But Karen mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Gary; two daughters Pamela (David) Schwarzlose and Lisa (Randy) Hancock. Also surviving are seven grandchildren Joshua, Jacey, Jayla, Jordan and Jaden Schwarzlose, Rhett and Gracelyn Hancock; and one sister, Becky Dicus.

Visitation will be Wednesday August 21 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem. Funeral will be Thursday August 22 at 10:00am at the church. Burial will follow in the Moravian Cemetery in West Salem.
